YES! I finally wrote the last song I want to put on the album. It's going to be a two part song, so I really just wrote the second half. I had finished a song called "And Then He Fell Off the Ends of the Earth..." a while back, very depressing, slow, melancholy... but I didn't want to end the album on that note. So... I wrote the second half entitled "...And He Discovered That the World was Round Afterall." So, without further ado, I'm posting both of them.

Good-bye dear friends; This is the omega,

the ending of myself.

I'll take the final leap off the ends of the Earth, and fall forever.

And when I reach the bottom, perhaps I'll finally get some rest.

Will you follow me to the ends of the Earth just to follow me off the edge?

 

Good-bye old friends; I am non-existent,

a vapor of a phantom, faded past.

I'll take the final leap from the comfort of your arms and fade away.

And when I hit the bottom, maybe the world will throw me a shovel,

so I can dig myself a grave and crawl in and go to sleep...

This is a new world, gates made of black pearl.

The grave that I dug is no where in sight.

Where are the people? No church and steeple,

nor market or sidewalk to ease my poor mind.

Dark is the sunlight, omitting the moon's shine,

covering me in a blanket of black wine.

I'm king of these shadows, but my reign is hollow,

for all of my subjects are trees bent in sorrow.

So I went to wander, and maybe discover

a bright, cherry soul that could reverse my blunder.

I can't scale the cliff's face to regain my old place.

The dangers of leaping were becoming so clear.

I took out your picture and wished on your smile

that maybe you'd meet me and tuck me in bed.

But still I remained there, this kingdom that lay bare

of life or a stirring of even the wind.

 

So darling, please take me away from this world that I'm lost in today!

For grim fates await me, and I'm bound to die early

if left to this place's devices;

a dream my subconcious devised.

 

So then I awoke there and shook off my bad scare.

That place seemed so vivid, I would swear it was real!

The black gates behind me, I could start to breathe easy

and banish the visions from inside my eyes.

I went back to sleep, and immediately

I was wandering those streets made of black brick and stone.

I resigned myself to the fate I was handed,

and ruled over shadows the rest of my days.

OH, it's SO marvelous! I'm so happy with the way it turned out, and the way it's going to sound. It's going to be amazing! I'm really, really ecstatic over this! I'm hoping to send in the demo to a label of some sort, just to see what kind of response I get. Oh yeah, and it should be done within a couple of weeks, so I'll be able to distribute copies soon! WOOT! It feels good to be nearing the end of this, since it's taken me much longer than I would have liked. Problem is, when you're recording with equipment that isn't amazing, it takes a while to get a track or two that you're happy with. But, it's all sounding pretty good for what it is, and I should be headed into my friend's neighbor's studio at some point this week to do some better quality tracking, so that will be good too. Maybe I can include some drums and such in those recordings! Anyway... I've babbled enough! I shall be off into the distance. Take it easy everyone.
